Family tradition. Evolved values. New ideas.

The history of the family business has its roots in 1937 when Karl and Lydia Benz laid the foundations for Benz Gastronomie, which continues to flourish today. Erwin and Ursula Benz subsequently opened the Hotel-Restaurant Schwanen in 1975, continuing to develop the characteristic Benz philosophy and establishing the hotel as an upmarket address in the region.

Since 1999, the responsibility for the Hotel-Restaurant Schwanen has been assumed by daughter Nicole and her husband Patrick Domon.
Marcel Benz is also part of the third generation to go into the family business, having successfully spun off the hotel’s catering service, and today manages Benz & Co. Catering, one of the most successful event companies in the region.

Philosophy

Tradition, experience and passion

Culinary passion since 1937 – tradition and experience are the key success factors for our family business and represent values which we embody together with our staff. Now into a third generation, we ensure a friendly and relaxed atmosphere during your stay in Köngen.

Our cuisine, which has been awarded the Bib Gourmand by Michelin, also plays its part: Head Chef Patrick Domon and his team use predominantly fresh, regional produce from trusted suppliers with whom we have been working for many years.
